I cannot reproduce this warning in current master as of 2026-09-02. The
repository now targets PHP ^8.1 in composer.json, CI builds and tests the PHP
library across PHP 8.1 through 8.5, and the PHP extension cross-test path is
built in GitHub Actions. There are also no current register keyword hits under
lib/php/src/ext/thrift_protocol. Given the current code and supported PHP
versions, this issue appears stale and no longer reproducible, so I am closing
it accordingly.
