@ppkarwasz I have made the necessary changes in the HttpAppender.java file but i don't know how and what changes are required in the HttpAppenderTest.java. I did try adding some test cases but i got the following error on testing  sorry for my lack of understanding about testing but is it necessary to write test cases to check the (layout == null) behaviour -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
