Fix For: 1.6.6, 1.7.2, 1.8.0
I intend to fix this for all currently supported branches. This is easier done
in newer branches (1.7, 1.8, master) which are already reasonably up-to-date in
their build plugins.
So, I may need to start with those branches and backport to the 1.6 branch to
improve its build. Either way, my goal is to make the builds consistent across
branches, and ensure each of them use the updated plugins/configuration in the
latest parent POM.
