Google invokes "The Wizard of Oz" with Gemini
Google is pushing for folks to use Gemini AI in Chrome, and has
launched an apparently new slogan: "There's no place like Chrome" --
obviously invoking a famous line from the film "The Wizard of Oz"
(1939). My immediate thought was Gemini as the fake Wizard himself,
pretending to be something he wasn't, putting on a big show and
spouting dangerous misinformation. Perhaps a more accurate slogan for
Gemini might be, "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!" as
spoken by the Wicked Witch of the West. At least she was honest about
her intentions.
