I've been using an HD Home Run dual tuner (current one is a couple of years old) and MythTV on Ubuntu to record OTA TV shows. While I've added internal and external drives, the computer itself is about 9 years old, so I am thinking I need to replace it before it croaks.
My perception has been that Myth TV seems to be dying, or at least not currently getting a lot of support. (Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) And there are now several dedicated OTA recorders. I want to record to a standard format, so I can do things like edit out commercials, and not be locked into one ecosystem. ATSC 3.0 is on the horizon, so I'm not anxious to get something with a 2.0 tuner right now. Any thoughts? -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
