Gibson:  Walmart was my first inclination as well, especially since the
existing device probably isn't doing any protection of devices.  (It
appears that it is only there to extend the network to wireless devices.)

Csaba:  Even after reset, it appears to be in bridging/passthrough mode.
There is no web interface presented. 192.168.1.1 was unreachable.  I would
love to know how to get to the configuration when in bridging mode.  Sister
reports trying admin for the wifi password is too short.

Also found out that NCTC is an IP based TV/internet/home phone provider
(kinda like U-Verse for rural areas).  This explains some things.  E.g.
when I looked at the back of mom's TV box, it only had an Ethernet
connection, no traditional RG-6 connector, so I was wondering how the heck
that was doing anything with "cable tv".
