And back to the roots: why do you want to compile NSIS?
My predecessor set this up as a means of distributing the application
front end client that runs on a Windows Desktop - connecting to the
linux application server. The product is a .exe that runs on Windows to
fire the install program and put shortcuts on the Windows Desktop.

It's going to take some digging to find where those libraries are.
Maybe that's not a problem. But maybe it is.
