You might have him check with Nashville Computer in Brentwood off Wilson Pike Circle if he is insisting on a local vendor who takes credit cards and has been around for a while. They are not a retail/storefront operation either. I have dealt with them a lot in the past and they resale Dell hardware on the server end and have some long time staff there that are server-oriented and knowledgeable. Steven is right, though, as even they would have to order something in. But at least they could also be there to support him (for his client) after the sale.

Now, if you could mail order, there are plenty of places you can order supermicro hardware, or even find some Dell or HP equipment. If he is looking at a weeks time, he is already behind on his work. It is unlikely anything mail ordered would be in in time to let him do any burn in and software config before his time is up.
