Hi Ed,

>hey Paul, did you ever get this running?

Nope. I have tried all kinds of (im)possible things, and still no fun.

>have you looked to see what is at line 207 of your /etc/init.d/httpd
>file?

Nothing shocking:

for tries in $times_start; do

I already tried debugging the script, but that has not brought me any
further either.

>have you deleted '/tmp/httpd-debug.pid' ?

That file does not exist. I do have a /tmp/httpdump.txt which contains
all kinds of interesting garbage.

>have you tried anyone else's 2007 /etc/init.d/httpd? that was known to
>work on their install? (I'll send you mine off list if you still want
>to try, or check for diffs

If you would do that, I'd appreciate it. I can at least give that a try.
If that does not work, I am nearly ready to format the necessary
partitions and install clean, to make sure no old stuff is there to make
things messy again.

Paul
