Jeff is going to hold me to only bug fixes in -rc.  It would be better
to get it posted soon/now.  I think there is a week or so before -rc
(I could be wrong?), but it would be better to get things up ASAP to
leave time for review and merge mechanics.

Are you going to hack-up some patches to account for Dave's comments?

I'm OK with leaving a few of those unused (i.e. not yet implemented)
functions if Dave and Jeff are OK with it.  But as Dave pointed
out, Adrian Bunk will be along shortly with patches to remove them.
I think it would be better just to remove them for now and keep them
as patches on your own development branch until they are ready.

I can hack some clean-up patches to account for Dave's concerns if
you are too busy w/ other patches.  Let me know!
