I did some more testing with this. Rate limiting this improves the situation, but it's still way to easy to flood a log. I'm wondering if it's actually useful to print that message at all. Any app that triggers it should be checking return values anyway, and will likely handle things more gracefully than us expecting users to read dmesg to find out wtf happened. Any objections to just removing it ?
