later because it's weird that a bug like this one would
persist for so long :-)

Well, I have occasionally had reports of this problem relating
to VLANs, but I mostly blamed it on IPv6 and asked bug reporters
for more info.  Since IPv6 _was_ a problem for a while, that might
have masked this particular problem.

It is also not easy to reproduce this reliably with regular
scripts, though as luck would have it, my application does
so easily with a particular regression script that creates
lots of VLANs, runs web traffic (ie, based on libcurl) and
then kills the connections and deletes the vlans.  I wrote a
perl script to do something similar, but couldn't trigger it..so
might be a timing issue..

At any rate, I'll be happy to see this fix go in unless someone
finds a problem with it!  Probably a candidate for the stable
fixup tree too...
