I'm so grateful for this; I rarely get this kind of close critique,
discussion, as you know. I feel half the time as if I'm writing myself
into erasure. Andrew wrote me he's also working on a longer piece, and he
did a presentation based on my work at the ELO conference in Victoria.
I need to be situated somewhere, I think; I have no idea how to do it
myself.

think he spends a bit too long talking about the cultural-historical context
of your work, at the expense of coming to grips with more examples of the
work itself: but having said this, it's an extremely valuable essay in terms
of that context.
