Grove snails at Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge http://www.alansondheim.org/grovesnail04.jpg http://www.alansondheim.org/grovesnail.mp4 (latter composed of 13 stills, has trouble playing w/ vlc) These snails are of great interest; the grove snail or brown-lipped snail has polymorphic coloration whose origin seems to be problematic. They remind me of Everglades tree snails, but belong to a single species. They appeared on a number of plants, primarily a form of goldenrod. We saw them a few days ago, returned to photograph them today. _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
