Access Space in Sheffield runs Refab Space, a DIY FabLab, developed and completed in 2012. We offer a suite of rapid prototyping tools including a laser cutter, CNC machine, vinyl cutter and a digital embroidery machine. In May and June, Access Space will be running a series of free workshops for artists focusing on the use of digital tools for fabrication. The workshops will focus on skills building, offering taught sessions on open source vector graphics software and the use of the laser cutter. We will also be happy to advise artists on fabrication for specific projects. If you are interested in other tools please let us know. Places are free but limited to six per workshop so please email: [email protected] to book your place. Workshop times are 11am - 4pm and available dates are: May - 17, 24, 31 June - 7, 14 Workshop leader is Toni Buckby, a Sheffield based artist, who has recently been selected to be a resident artist at Digital Media Labs 2015 in Barrow in Furnace, Cumbria.
