Hi Rob Thanks very much for your great selection of inspirational things.
I particularly like FRAMED. I've been wandering around this issue for years, about the way that digital art is consumed, and feeling that galleries are not the place for my work. Perhaps digital art doesn't need to be restricted by the gallery system, maybe it doesn't need it at all - apart from some kind of validation that could be achieved in other ways. The music market has been radically changed by networked media; the book market is about to become the same with Amazon's subscription models. The art market relies so much on the scarcity of the object and this conflicts with digital art's endless reproductions. These networked frames could work well. Networked framed art on your wall, great beautiful art, following your tastes, changing all day, on subscription. I think you'd be able to interact with the frames, which opens up lots of collaborative possibilities. If these frames were big and covered whole walls, then this could be amazing. But on the downside - your home becomes a computer. Most of the time I'm trying to keep the kids off the gadgets; this would be a disaster! Turn the house off! You've been on there all day! dave On 22 July 2014 06:29, Rob Myers <[email protected]> wrote: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > "Who Shares Code With Artists?" - > > http://blairneal.com/blog/who-shares-code-with-artists/ > > > Glitch + oil paint - > > > http://motherboard.vice.com/read/these-oil-and-acrylic-paintings-contain-digital-glitches > > > "Build-a-Coin Cryptocurrency Creator" - > > http://build-a-co.in/ > > > "Bitcoin: the Stripe perspective" - > > https://stripe.com/blog/bitcoin-the-stripe-perspective > > > "Icon do better ?
