some of you had asked me whether I'd be recording our "animalinside" performance at the Moody Center for the Arts in Houston (January 30), and finally I was able to edit the film down to about 27 minutes, from a much longer recital. youtu.be/ulR4bnbGO0o We had shown paintings by German artist Max Neumann at Gallery Puzić last fall, and when I introduced the works on opening night, I referred to Neumann's collaboration on a novella by László Krasznahorkai, drawings to writings, writing to drawings... On November 9 , I arranged a small literary event at the gallery when we learnt that the Hungarian writer just won the Nobel Prize for Literature. In Houston, I then moved the project to a theatre and worked with a fuller cast, musicians and a composer. it was an emotional event for me, as I had begun my career as a choreographer in Houston back in the 1980s. with regards, Johannes Birringer
