The initialisation code assumes that this file looks something like: processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 15 model : 4 model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz <etc, etc> So it's looking for a line of the form processor : N to create the entry with index 'N' "processor : PVID: 0x80811014, vendor: Motorola" will be confusing it something rotten!
