With a "GetRequest" function of SNMP, I use an application to acquire a value
of following MIB.
* sysDescr.0, sysUptime.0
* hrSystemDate.0, hrMemorySize.0
* ifTable
* ipAddrTable
* hrStorageTable
When I carried out this application, snmpd of a target machine outputs the
following log.
I acquire plural MIB in an above application. But log is only one.
====================
Jan 24 01:08:41 JX0IC174 snmpd[9330]: send response: (parse header: message
overflow: 69 len + 2 delta > 18 len)
====================
I carry out this application once a day.
But there are the day when above log appears and the day when above log doesn't
appear.
I do not carry out a setting change of snmpd and reboot of snmpd since I
started the acquisition.
Questions about this log are as follows.
1) Please teach me a meaning of this log.
2) Why this log appears?
3) Why are there the day when above log appears and the day when above log
doesn't appear?
4) When this log shows to snmpd that a problem occurs, please teach me about a
workaround of a problem.
5) When this log does not have any problem, please teach a method to restrain
the output.
6) Please teach whether this log came to come out of a version of a NET-SNMP
throat.
A version and a start option of snmpd are as follows.
====================
Jan 7 13:13:10 JX0IC174 snmpd[27249]: NET-SNMP version 5.1.2
====================
/usr/sbin/snmpd -Lsd -Lf /dev/null -p /var/run/snmpd -a
====================
Thank you in advance.
