*NEISA Dinghy Championship for the Coast Guard Alumni Bowl @ Brown
University/Providence College*

*Saturday, April 13:*

lA long and challenging first day for the New England Dinghy Championship
at Brown University. The race committee negotiated throughout the day with
an unstable Northwesterly fighting a Southerly that couldn't quite make its
way up the bay. 6 races were completed in each division in shifty 4-8 knot
winds ranging from West to North. Many thanks to Charlotte Lipschitz and
Fred Strammer for judging and the Brown and Providence College
undergraduates who assisted with race management. No protests were filed
and one breakdown was awarded.
Sunday, April 14:

Another tricky day with N/NW to Westerly breezes ranging from 6-16 knots.
Some broad shifts made the race management and racing difficult for
sailors. Nine races were sailed in each division on Sunday on
Windward/Leeward courses for a total of 15 in each division. No protests
were filed, one redress was given for a broken main halyard, and one
redress was denied.

A huge thanks to Roger Williams for supplying their FJ sails and to Coast
Guard, Connecticut College, URI, and Moses Brown for the use of their
powerboats. Thanks to all the Brown and Providence College sailors for
helping run a great event in two fleets of boats. Thanks as well to John
Tagliamonte, Jaime Ewing, and Art Rousmaniere for judging and keeping the
competitors in check on Sunday. Thanks to Matt Lindblad from MIT for being
the NEISA Representative.

Congrats to the host Brown Bears on winning the NEISA Dinghy Championship
for the Coast Guard Alumni Bowl and to Boston College, Tufts, Roger
Williams, Dartmouth, Yale, MIT, and Connecticut College on qualifying for
the ICSA National Semi-finals along with Brown, April 27-28, in Hampton, VA.
