As a reminder for any Boston-area NEISA people looking for a little wintertime fun, the Laser frostbite fleet in Winthrop (right off the end of the Logan Airport runways) welcomes collegiate sailors (and everyone else, for that matter)
We gather every Sunday (first gun at 1:00 PM), for an afternoon of short course racing followed by a get-together in the clubhouse. Last year, we peaked at around 25 boats on a couple of nice days. There are some great sailors in the fleet, and our races are ably run by a team of volunteers headed up by the legendary Hatch Brown.
Thanks to the generosity of our hosts, Cottage Park Yacht Club, you do not need to be a member of the club to compete. Our fee ($150; $100 for full time students) covers an entire season of racing and includes the right to store a boat right on the floats.
It's easy to get there, and we can arrange carpool rides to pick people up at the T stop.
