By adding NAnt and Contrib in a tools subdirectory under the root directory containing your solution you can remove both these tools from the bootstrap. CCNet and revision control are still required in the bootstrap. The idea is that CCnet monitors this solution root directory and GETs the NAnt and NAntContirib in addition to the source code files and your NAnt build script for the solution. This relies on the fact that NAnt and Contrib do not need to be registered in the GAC.
For the solution that CCNet is monitoring, its then a matter of telling CCNet (via its config file) the location of the NAnt.exe that it has just retrieved along with the solution. Hope this explanation helps. You have to have NAnt, NantContrib and your revision control installed just to get started... :-) Thanks for your comments. -Kelly > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > Crowhurst,Christian > Sent: Tuesday, October 18, 2005 1:50 AM > To: nant-users@lists.sourceforge.net > Subject: RE: [Nant-users] Install Tools > > I think it may come as a surprise how many occasions you > might make use of a separate script that setup the build environment: > > - re-creating an old build > - setting up a new machine > - disaster recovery tests and (heaven forbid) the real deal - > an actual disaster > - the next team in the organisation to adopt the build / agile process > - your next company > - other users new to the community > > Also a related issue is what tools do you add to your version > / source control repository.
