Would someone PLEASE fix the help file? I'm reading the archives and
see new users having the same problem over and over.

Why would I think it's the help file. BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT TELLS YOU
TO DO!

Getting Started
[This is preliminary documentation and subject to change.]

This topic will show you NAnt building itself. Before you begin make
sure your system meets the system requirements.

Download the latest release.
Unzip the distribution into a new folder.
Open a command prompt and change the directory to the folder where NAnt
was installed.
Type bin\nant to build NAnt.
Look at the NAnt.build file to see how it works.li
If you did everything correctly you should see something like this:
<Missing picture of cmd window with a successful build that the new user
never sees.>
<<<<

New users, like me, download the files and unzip them per the
instructions. Many of us then look in the help file to figure out how
to get started. We look in "Getting Started" and, for some reason, we
are told to compile nAnt. We're just beginners. We don't know any
better. We make the mistake of assuming that the help file is where you
get help and that "Getting Started" is what you do to get started.

I wasted a couple of hours down this road myself and it looks like many
other people have too. Not to mention the amount of time you've spent
helping us un-help ourselves.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this.

You have finished installing at this point.

You're trying too hard. Unzip the zip file somewhere, and put the bin
folder in your path. That's it.

I believe the nightly builds show "0.85" and will be a stable release
soon. Quite a few people are using these builds daily, so it's worth
trying.
