Hi Christian I expect to support our VB6 product for some time to come so the need won't disappear overnight! I have a few ideas that I might put to you - once I have managed to make them comprehensible and cohesive!
Thanks for your support in any case ... Lets hope one of us comes up with something that fits the bill, otherwise we're going to be stuck having to maintain dependency order in our build scripts! Looks like VB6 isn't as popular out there! Be grateful for any information you can provide - rest assured i'll do the same should I come upon anything interesting. Unfortunately no one has replied back to me which is quite disappointing. I'm still digging around in this area so if I uncover something useful I'll try and remember to post what I find to you. I have a similar problem and would like to share experiences if possible. We compile 250+ VB DLLs, OCXs and EXEs and I am currently employing Build Manager 2000 (http://www.g7x.com) with a number of VBScripts to do this. All I really need is a dependency analyser or source code for the same. I could then output a .build file or similar and take it from there. I believe someone on the NAntContrib list has written a C# script to do this.
