This is correct. You can compile a whole directory of source if you need to. However its just a normal fileset. The fact that its called <sources> is just for convenience.

However, the only examples in the NAnt help is one compiling a single hello world problem. Also, each compiler task takes a single 'output' property, implying that only one binary will be produced per compiler task invocation.



Can one compiler task invocation do multiple compiles or not?



no. Why would you expect it to ? a single invocation of csc.exe will only ever produce one binary - the same applies to the <csc> task and others.
