Pulled it from CVS, but now I can't build. Here is the failure from the output. I'm using MONO from April 1st, version 0.31.99.

Many bugs were fixed since the 0.84 release including some that you mention. Some test don't pass, anyway, but you should be able to use nant with mono for some common tasks.
