Are you both running NAnt on a system with only the .NET Framework 1.1 installed ?
Me yes, I have the same problem on Windows XP and 2000 Pro, both with German .Net v1.1 and German OS.
I build it with the -k:net-1.1 option. Without the -k I get the following error:
