Why does every programming newsgroup, regardless of the supposed
topic of the group, periodically generate long discussions about curly brace
usage? These discussions are spam. They are never ending. They get people who
care about such things worked up into a lather of self-righteousness. I know
that nobody is intentionally spamming this group with this topic, but please
let’s cut this thread off. When I saw the first mention of curly braces
the other day, I commented to my coworkers that I would bet good money that I
would see at least 50 postings on this added to the list. I wasn’t wrong,
and unfortunately, I have just added my spam to the list. It’s the last
posting on the subject I will make. |
