We haven't decided on the packaging yet.

I favor separate distribution packages for NAnt and NAntContrib to make
it clear that there is quite a difference with regards to quality and
backward compatibility for both projects. The release schedule of both
projects will need to be synced ofcourse...

But as I said, we haven't yet made a decision on this subject.

  Scott,
      I wasn't able to build the nant project either. I went and deleted

(sorry for leaving the list out last time, cc'd now)

Thanks for the info (and I saw your respone to Michael too). I thought
about it a bit, and I realize that I am not so concerned with the
NAntContrib (NC) source being in the 0.8.4 distribution, so much as I
want
to be able to rebuild the 0.8.4 binaries -- including NC. The 0.8.3
release included compatible NC binaries, but because the source code for

NC wasn't there, it wasn't possible to make modifications to it, and we

ended up having to move to a later nightly build of both.

So, based on your response to Michael, it sounds like that this will be
resolved (in a way to be determined) for 0.8.4, and if so that would
answer my question, even if they aren't actually in the same download.

Is that right?

Best,
Bill

Packaging has not been decided yet. We might release a separate 0.8.4
version of NAntContrib.

Can't you just use the prefix attribute when embedding them? Works for
resource files and any other files I choose to embed such as xml files
,etc.

Hi,

Sorry about the repost but I think it will gain more attention if i
start a new thread.

The original post is here.
http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg01510.ht
ml

The problem is that Crystal Report Files (.rpt) are not being prefixed
with the filepath\namespace that other embedded resources
do.   e.g. .resx files

One way of getting around it was to rename my .rpt and corresponding .cs
files to have the filepath/namespace prefix.

Example:

my dir structure

MyProject.Name
    \Reports

Renamed File
MyProject.Name\Reports\myreport.rpt
MyProject.Name\Reports\myreport.cs

To
MyProject.Name\Reports\MyProject.Name.Reports.myreport.rpt
MyProject.Name\Reports\MyProject.Name.Reports.myreport.cs

This works but is ugly. Wondering if the Nant Developers would add in
support for .rpt (Crystal Report files) just like in the support
resolution in the following bug tracker link.

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=805307&group_id
=31650&atid=402868

Would you support this small bug change Nant developers?

Plus, would you consolidate the code solution in the above link to a
daily build and eventually into the next release??

thanks,

mike

You could in fact use a combination of the dynamicprefix and prefix
attributes of the <resources> element.

The following should match the VS.NET behaviour in the latest 0.8.4
nightly build's (I fixed a bug concerning this today, so you should
perhaps wait for the next nighlty build):

<csc ... output=".../XXX.exe">
    <sources>
        ....
    </sources>
    <resources dynamicprefix="true" prefix="XXX">
        ....
    </resources>
</csc>

Whether you should use the prefix attribute depends on what the base
directory of the resources element is ...
