I am running version 0.21 of mythtv using the 20080525 daily build of mvpmc.
Recently we moved from analog cable to digital which require the use of set top
boxes. Rather than having another box connected to the television, I plan to
connect the set top boxes to the mythtv backend and use the liveTV feature on
the mvpmc. While trying this earlier it became to time start a recording I had
scheduled. I received a message about losing connecting to the backend and the
mvpmc did a soft reboot shortly after that. My expectation was that the backend
was using this encoder for the scheduled show, but the recording was not
happening though the show was being recorded according to the guide entry. I
corrected this state by bouncing the backend.

I have a couple questions about this. At the time I was testing this I had two
tuners configured on my backend. I would have expected the show to be recorded
on the second tuner since it was available. If this is not the case I would
expect to be kicked off the first encoder and have the scheduled recording
start. Is there something I need to configure in order to have one of these two
behaviors? Thanks.

                                        Charles
