AFAIK,You're missing the point. fetchmail is not involved when you use Mutt's built in POP fetch-mail function, even though the names are similar. That function just brings the mail directly into the folders, it bypasses the system's normal MTA/MDA system entirely. This is, of course, one of the main reasons to not use Mutt's limited POP support, and to use an external program such as fetchmail instead. > fetchmail does not do that.
