It only does this if it's invoked by the MTA, if you pipe mail to it
from fetchmail it'll try hard not to waste mail, but if it has to ...
well, /dev/null.

And to avoid that you SHOULD make fetchmail deliver mail to procmail,
not reinject via SMTP.
And of course make a spotless ~/.procmail! :-)
