Please use the bug tracker, and attach your config and a log file (verbose mode). This has probably to do with the 24 bit playback support MPD gained for OSS. Try to force 16 bit mode. If it turns out that 24 bit playback is different on FreeBSD/OSS than on Linux/OSS, then we either need somebody with enough OSS knowledge to fix it (I have neither FreeBSD nor OSS) or we need to disable it on FreeBSD.
