The Classic version officially requires (copied from 0.9.4 relnotes)
 * Mac OS 8.5 or later
 * PowerPC 604e 266 MHz or faster processor, or G3/G4
 * 64 MB RAM

It runs slowly on lesser processors (603 for example--I haven't tried
with 601) with less MHz. Six month ago it ran slowly with 48 MB of RAM.
(I haven't checked recently.)

With Mac OS X, updating to 10.0.4 (and to 10.1 real soon now) makes
general sense. (I guess no one is even testing whether the Mozilla
nightlies run on 10.0.0.)
