Mozilla and Netscape 6/7 are based on the Gecko layout engine, which is re-designed from scratch. The base code of Mozilla and Netscape 6/7 has little link to that of Netscape 4.x, though the similiar functionalities may trick you. Netscape 6/7 is basically a rebranded Mozilla, with additional components such as the AOL Instant Messager and WinAMP.
