How often is the FAQ updated?
It is updated when it needs to be updated. This means when people start
asking a certain question over and over.
Would I be responsible for finding and writing the initial information
to go in the FAQ or only updating, editing, and polishing other's
submissions?
For the most part, it is updating, editing, and polishing, however new
content will need added as new Mozilla features are added and people ask
about them.
Either way, how would I go about obtaining this information?
Ask and pay attention to the responses to the questions that other
people ask.
Effectively, I would like to know what I am getting into :-) I have
never been involved in a project of this scale nor one that was
online. I am /beginning/ to learn xhtml, though I have a strong desire
to be successful with it. I really want to help; my concerns lie
mostly in how much help I will need vs. how much help I will get and
how much time is needed to do an exemplary job with it?
The FAQs are text, but you might also make HTML versions to keep updated
on the site as well.
I have other volunteer obligations, school, and I am looking for part
time work. If this is a twenty-hour a week obligation, which I doubt,
then I simply cannot afford to commit. If we are talking more like 20
hours a month, or less, then I think it would be feasible.
We all do, I don't think maintaining the FAQ will take significant
amounts of time.
I hope I don't sound like a wanker; I just need to be certain that I
have the capabilities and time that are required before I sign on.

Daniel Wang has been looking for somebody to take his FAQs and
maintain
them. Perhaps that is a role you could fill?
For more details, you might ask Daniel and search the newsgroups archive
for the last posting of the FAQs.
