Dear colleagues, A GMM related PhD with full international fees covered, which may be of interest: Jacob Dunn, Emma Pomeroy, and myself have been successful in obtaining funding from the Cambridge Philosophical Society for a doctoral studentship on the comparative anatomy of the larynx. This will centre on the Harrison larynx collection (one of the worlds largest collections of mammalian larynges) held at ARU in Cambridge UK, and we are now inviting applications.
The project will involve the DICE-CT and morphometric analysis of larynges in our collection (as well as specimens from other collections), to build a comprehensive 3-dimensional understanding of the anatomical variation of this structure in mammals. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong technical skillset, including image processing, R scripting, evolutionary modelling or bioacoustics. Please see the linked advert for more details, and please disseminate to any of your students/lab alumni who may be interested. Please also feel free to forward to any relevant colleagues. https://www.findaphd.com/phds/project/the-comparative-anatomy-of-the-mammalian-larynx/?p183840 <https://gbr01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.findaphd.com%2Fphds%2Fproject%2Fthe-comparative-anatomy-of-the-mammalian-larynx%2F%3Fp183840&data=05%7C02%7Cthomas.omahoney%40aru.ac.uk%7C1ad784a0ec3e485fec1608dd6baa6aee%7C5f35c3da39ae46329ac1afc2f25d2852%7C0%7C0%7C638785101889752387%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=Q4qRR14eYUlBbE0ZVHgs25D6OKU8vAPNh0FYbGFOjlw%3D&reserved=0> This studentship provides a full stipend for 3 years, and all fees are covered regardless of nationality.
