Hi Andrea,
It really depends of the size of the objets you want to scan.
We have 2 einscan sanners and we are quite happy with them: https://www.einscan.com/ I agree with Terrie photogrammetry is a very good alternative, we are using metashape (https://www.agisoft.com/) which as a very good community support and is not expensive if you can get an educational license.
I would be interested in knowing what will be your final choice.
Have a nice day

You might consider photogrammetry too. I’ve been getting great detail with my iPhone 13 Pro: https://trnioplus.nira.app/a/GMiFJb9rRsSpmhahtluboA/1. (Click the sphere in the bottom right to turn off texture.)

    Hi Andrea,

You will get many suggestions and the one that suits you will
depend on the kind of scan you need as well as the cost.

I note that there is a new einstar scanner that claims to do
reasonable and convenient 3D scans in colour for less than US$1,000:
    https://www.einstar.com/

You might be interested to have a look at that one.

        Dear all,
I am looking for an affordable portable 3D scanner (no more
        than 5000 euros). Any suggestion?
Has anybody experience with 3D scanners interfaced with a
        Linux machine?

        Thanks in advance.
        Cheers

        Andrea
