I was briefly in NYC for work and though I didn't get to sample much night
life suggested by list people(thanks Chantal!) a co-worker's NYC gal pal
took us to a bar on friday evening called M&R on Elizabeth Street (I think).
More a bar and eating establishment than a club, no dance floor or
anything, but the had the best gosh darn music I'd heard in a very long
tiime being spun by this cute blonde girl named Jennie. I quite enjoyed
myself! She played a lot of 60's soul, rhythm and blues, jazz and even a
little blue beat. She told me she's there soinning every friday, so far
anybody who's in NYC or visiting check it out! I guess she d.js from 10
till they close and it's free. Nice food, good crowd and perfect bartender
(the gal makes a mean Martini).
