On behalf of those involved with our Biff! Bang! Pow! event, I would
like to thank those of you who attended our shindig. Just got word
that we had approximately 220 (that's big around here) in attendance
which more than exceeded our expectations and was something that the
San Francisco scene has needed for a long time! I was surprised at
the reception to a lot of the songs that I was spinning, and being
that most of them were getting spun for the first time, I was only
expecting a lukewarm reception. Thanks to my fellow DJs Carlos,
Kirk, Joel, Sean S., and the wonderful Alec Palao for giving the
crowd some great sets! I really want to thank Michael Reilly and
Carrie Dubiner for their enthusiasm and hard work that really made
this night come together. Let's not forget about Mike Haber and
company who helped us with our Britpop lounge! Thanks to all who
attended and I hope we will get another one together real soon. Look
out for more functions happening around San Francisco in the near
future including Chicklett (every other Monday at the Paradise
Lounge), Montaj, and one happening on the 16th of this month at 330
Ritch St. which the name escpaes me that will feature the Flakes!
(Look out for that band's very own Peeping John and Russell Quan
spining that night as well). Upcoming: the return of Hip Hugger at
Cafe Du'Nord in March and, hopefully, the return of Marmalade...venue
unknown! Also want to mention 2001 Sapce Oddity hosted by Dan
Geddes, which was great way to ring in the year of Arthur C. Clarke,
and a spinning of Strauss at midnight worked well, too. I'm tellling
you California was happening this weekend, congratulations to
Hipsters for a stellar night as well!
Cheers!
Sean
