What do you have in mind? We've had many discussions over the years about mobile optimizations. Some of the results are XEP-0237 (Roster Versioning), XEP-0198 (Stream Management), and XEP-0273 (SIFT). We've also talked about better definition of session resumption and quick reconnect. One open issue is whether we need a simpler method than SIFT for hushing inbound presence on a session (since inbound presence tends to prevent the device from going to sleep). At this point I think we need more implementation and deployment experience with the technologies I've just mentioned, because many of them are mostly defined only in specs. Then we can do some testing to figure out what other optimizations might be needed. IMHO we need to do this in an iterative fashion instead of defining solutions in a vacuum. > Do I first have to discuss the ideas on this mailing list? You don't *have* to do anything. :) But it would probably be a good idea. > What is the process for an XEP of such kind? http://xmpp.org/extensions/submit.shtml > I will outline more detail in a later mail.
