Hi all,

A few hours ago I merged our first real Switchboard experiments to
production, and they're live in Nightly! Everyone should see "Bookmarks"
and "History" menu items appear in their main menu, and 50% of users should
see the search UI reappear when tapping on the urlbar after performing a
search.

For those who don't know, we've already been using Switchboard to segment
users for A/B testing our first run experience, but the logic to control
those experiments is local, baked into the client for first run performance
reasons.

With this most recent change, we're now using Switchboard to remotely
control features, which allows us to do things like staged rollouts (and
more importantly, rollbacks). For more details on the active experiments
and how we're using Switchboard, you should check out the
switchboard-experiments repo here:
https://github.com/mozilla-services/switchboard-experiments

We're still working to define a process for how we'll use this tool more
generally, but for now it's exciting to see some simple experiments go live.

Margaret
