The barriers are slowly falling away, however, and we may be able to do so soon. It should be possible to get an artifact build [1] running on Windows without much effort, but I haven't tried recently. Unfortunately, it's not easy to try to dig into this as a new contributor, since the process is quite complicated. For now, I suggest you follow Nithya's example and try using a virtual machine running Linux. With this and an artifact build, you should get a build running quite quickly. I have witnessed USB problems with VMs, but these seem to be very (Android) device specific. Thanks for your interest, and sorry we're not quite there yet. To anybody who knows, or might know how to find out -- do we have any idea how many Windows Android developers there are compared to Mac OS X or Linux Android developers?
