This actually caused some problems on desktop (see bug 1172342, bug 366324) due to some interactions between our broken SVG favicon support and some sites using Apple's new thing incorrectly. We don't support Apple's icon-mask, but we did fix the ability to use SVG for an icon.
There was also some discussion on WhatWG ( https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-whatwg-archive/2015Jun/thread.html) about how this should work... Looks like Apple changed their initial spec (instead of <link rel=icon> + a "mask" attribute, the article says it's <link rel=mask-icon>). Can't wait for MP4 favicons! :P Justin On Sun, Nov 8, 2015 at 11:05 AM, Richard Newman <rnew...@mozilla.com> wrote: > http://blog.iconfactory.com/2015/11/the-new-favicon/ > _______________________________________________ > mobile-firefox-dev mailing list > mobile-firefox-dev@mozilla.org > https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/mobile-firefox-dev > >
