mochitest-chrome tests (mochitests running with chrome privileges) are now running in automation for Android. On treeherder, you will see a new M(c) job for Android 2.3 API9 opt, Android 4.3 API11+ opt, and Android 4.3 API11+ debug.
"mach mochitest -f chrome" is also supported: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Fennec/Android/Testing#mochitest-chrome. There's some general info on mochitest-chrome at https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Chrome_test. mochitest-chrome tests have run on desktop platforms for years, but this is the first time we have run them on Android. Many legacy tests fail on Android. To get a stable, green run quickly, I disabled all the tests in a directory whenever I came across a failing test: Many more mochitest-chrome tests pass on Android, but I am leaving it to others to sort out which ones pass/fail and why. The real value in mochitest-chrome for Android may be in new tests. I am going to look into converting some of our all-javascript robocop tests to mochitest-chrome -- see bug 1184186 <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1184186>. - Geoff
