You can download cursor themes from here: http://www.kdelook.org/index.php?xcontentmode=mouse The cursor theme files (which are tar files) contain some instructions for setting up the themes, but essentially what you need to do is extract the tar.gz file into a directory called ".icons" in your home directory, and possibly add a link to "default". That's it.
