Hi.
ED2K-keep_downloaded_in_old_files should default to true.
Forgetting to change this from the current default "false" can be all to easy
and then there is basically no way to retrieve the list of downloaded files
again.
Storing these IDs takes up basically no space, so there is no reason against
it.
