Ah. But ~that~ DESTDIR is transient, only for the "make distrib-dirs"
Only has effect in the "make distrib-dirs" subshell.
(try: $ unset FOO
$ env FOO="bar" ls /tmp
$ echo $FOO
)
Docs correct? In this OS, yes. Man release is holy writ.
