Hi Chris,

I've seen this before with perfectly good disks.  When the disk
settles on a PIO/UDMA mode, use config(8) to set it for that/those
disks.  If you still get errors, try them on another motherboard.  If
they work then, you've got a dying controller and you should trash the
board/get a PCI adapter.
