So you don't know.
But that's ok. Me neither, that's why i asked.

(If you are interested, using a calculator and giving the size in
sectors not using a unit, doesn't get the rounding treatment and
appears to works just fine, on amd64 that is.)

Let me rephrase and remove disklabel from the question:
What would break if slices don't start on a cylinder boundary?
